Analysise on the mise en scene

Sound:

Construct representation: - mood. atmosphere. ambience.

Diagetic and non diegetic sound from within the film world, fictional world of the actual narrative (diegetic) sounds characters dont hear, voice over! sound added in post productions (non fictional)

Sound Track:
mostly used in sound tracks plus moving images and music to go with the images its self

Theme:
specific sound track

Ambience sound:
sound that can be recorded without a dialogue , also sets a mood for the environment for specific place, sound affect which gives context.

Dialgoue:
Character speech.

Sound Affect:
sound added in post-production to create an affect e.g gun shot

Sound bridge:
Acts as a bridge in the sequence follows to another environment or location , also helps to build continuity

Non diegetic sound track, end of a sound bridge, sound track is helping to emphasize through the rustling of the evelope,to know that this is a buisness transaction...
Like knocking of the door , the clicking has summed up its not diegetic its just the dialogue... the father feels awakward to finish of his sentence, he keeps stutering a lot. the son lso feels slighly vunerable that hes  being locked in so they emphasize on the locking... embience of the sound track his father can not enter anymore.
Exchange dialogue between them , all is punctuated by silences by treating his disability as a narrative is almost as pittying him.
Diegetic sound track , classical music being played.. anxiety inapropriate to how hes feeling so he turns it off because he feels nervous.
non diegetic sound track ; slow melow sympathy to his disability , emphasizes the mood , helps create the mood once again.

Music is melconic , harmonic is played while the fathers in the van , lonley. the harmonic is normally played the blues.
Ambience sound fazed out , non diegetic being fazed in

Disability shows through out M.E.S

"Monarch of the glen 5 Minute clip"
Editing---

Transitions:
Cut-cuts from one shot to another , eyeline match - cuts from characters looking to what they are looking at. This is known as... shot reverse shots. Shots used in conversations.

Match on match action:
Cutting on motion.

Cross cutting:
Cutting across two scenes

Graphic match:
Uses a shape on screen to cut and jump cut to one scene to another.

                                                 TYPES OF EDITING

Continuity editing// montage
invisable editing (affect) // thematic editing.

                                                                            EDITING!

Pace, marginalises/privilages, character, less screen time. more screen time.

Throughout the clip Monarch of the glen you tend to see a continuity editing (invisable editing)
theres also a atmosphere of awkwardness as the young lady doesnt know what to do.. shot reverse shot is used at this moment of time to help bulid the awkwardness.
Theres a eyeline shot between the father and a close up of the women looking down , constructing the feeling around the disabled boy, we catch a dolly movement from when the disbaled boy gets into bed (low angle to show the editing)

Match on match action with two different shots , from the father helping him thats shot 1 and 2 and again when he puts him on the bed.. continuous action non stopping throughout. when theres an eyeline match it draws attention that hes uncomfortable , that shes locking the door , it also shows the feeling of vunerbility.. she comes across as very flirtatous..
Next shot wen were out side , theres a cross cut to the father as he entres the van and we happen to see a shot reverse shot during the converstaion, it creates awkwardness of the situation just because of his disability, theres a feelng of anxiety from the father as he looks up at the window and we catch an eyeline match at this point.
And thats how editing helps construct the representation of disbility.

Mise En Scene

M.E.S (everything in the scene including - setting , lighting, location, props, costume, blocking and body language)

In the opening of the monarch you tend to see alot of compersitions & camerwork
This clip is showing us audience the representation of age by the tools associated during ths clip. as the camera pans across the fortyard , the camera shows a medium shot establishing her costume and location.. amys costume shows the age difference between the men loading the truck as shes in casual clothes.. theres a dolly movement as amy enters the landrover and a quick close up showing confussion in the epressions on her face as she looks unformilliar with the manual.
Theres also a wide shot as she crashes into the head masters car showing us the where abouts of the location where everythings goin on this is an high angle. as the head master comes out of the car theres a medium long shot, the crash is in the foreground , the smoke is in the middle and the head master is seen to be in the background.
It Happeneds to show conflict between the young and the old, the camera emphasise there hieght as it pans through and shows that the head master is much bigger.
the audience is being manipulated as were suppose to feel sorry for amy , theres also a susspition as  she has lied about how old she is. The way she quickly curls up to the old women like a little child still shows shes a youth.
Theres slighty a low angle of the two men which gives them authority , power, experience and age.
As the camera works at its eye level with amy the sequence is an extreme long shot.
The camer tilts to revel a close up of the note she leaves, followed by a teddy. by those two shots we notice were oinside her bedroom, we see a slow zoom on the photograph which emphasise on her emotions , the representation of her age is basically noticed well by her over reactions.
The tilt showed that we was outside looking in, this makes it obvious that she has jumped out the window as it shows the window frame. The grannys reaction for amy leaving shows a strong relationship between the pair of them as the feelings in her face are quiet fragile. Camera work is at pauls eye level so its time for his emotions to come out , theres also a close up of  him to show guilt.

This is all about age conflict.
